Attention fight fans and those who consider themselves fight enthusiasts. I’d like to take a moment to discuss the Deontay Wilder fight.
Deontay Wilder obtained his first professional loss as a boxer in the heavyweight division recently and the loss devastated a great deal of his fanbase.
Most professional boxers some where in the back of their mind know that there is always a possibility of a loss. This is why you prepare, practice and train hard for the fight and ff a loss occurs you chalk it up as a learning experience and prepare harder for the next fight.

This is what professionals do. Being the heavyweight champ is a hard title to earn and keep. The pressure to maintain the regiment of training, dieting, mental focus to prepare for a fight and let alone sustaining this regiment for a long period of time is extremely difficult and stressful. I can only imagine.
Not to mention the outside pressure with the fickle fans. But fans come and go with wins and losses. I believe most fighters should know and understand this about the game.
Boxers have a ton of things to be concerned about. Whether you are a beginner or wearing that championship belt. The champs have a greater concern when they are on the top.

Do my fans really love me? Or is it the way I knock somebody out?
Does my entourage really love me? Or is it the all access behind backdoor passes?
The parties? The women? The money that my title affords me?
Does my team really love me? Or just grateful that they’re on my winning team, as long as i’m winning.
Does my corner men really love me? Or are they just doing the job in my corner?
If the fans loved me, like I love them they love me win or lose. Because they would know the sacrifice I’ve made for their mere entertainment.

If my entourage loves me, the way I love them they would know I was only trying to share my good fortune and fame with them because I love them.
If my team really loves me, like I love them they would know that there is no “I” in team. If we are all in this boxing thing together. If one of us wins then we all win.
If my corner men loves me the way I love them they would know that I have placed my life and my trust in their hands and I could rest assured that in the event of any danger of my life that they would make the right decision based on my physical health and not my pride, not my entourage’s ego. Not my team’s financial future.
Not the fans desire to see someone knocked out with one mighty blow. My corner would know that my health and well being was the most important thing.
My corner would know that. If my corner loves me. Who’s in your corner?
