Being The Hib: The Most Interesting Man in the World

I cannot recall how many times I found myself in places, situations, and opportunities, among people and circumstances, which I am only now—some 58 years later—beginning to understand. Why was I in those places and spaces? Conversations and information unfolded right in front of me. How did I get here? Could they see me? Did they know I could hear what they were saying?

I saw things I thought I’d seen before, dismissed as déjà vu. I heard things that perhaps weren’t meant for me to hear, yet were said anyway, as if I weren’t even there.

Understanding now, the book The Spook Who Sat by the Door by Sam Greenlee, it feels almost like a virtual tour of my own life. Being the “spook”—or the invisible man, or a ghost, however you choose to classify it—resonates deeply with me.

But today, the spook that sits in your pocket is not a person but a strategically designed, purposefully created artificial intelligence. It embeds itself in every aspect of your life: listening, watching, and continuously monitoring your every move. It was created by fine individuals from three-letter government agencies, ensuring they know if you ever go rogue or start thinking for yourself.

Know this, my human brothers and sisters: this spook cannot be bargained with. It cannot be reasoned with. It has no sympathy, remorse, or feelings for you in any way. It cannot be shut down, and it will not stop until you are under its full control.

So, be mindful of what you say, even when you think you’re alone. Continuously create contingency plans for your escape, every single day.

Follow me—The Hib, the most interesting man in the world—for your deprogramming.

I am Human. R U?

Now, smoke that over.

  1. Soon the spook in your pocket will know your inner thoughts before you even speak it can you imagine going back to a world when people paid attention to one another the world is missing intellectual conversation and human interactions

    1. I agree, people’s faces buried in tiny screens, so much so that they can’t see the world around them. Ears plugged so they no longer hear, no longer feel..
      Frightening

  2. There may be someone looking over your shoulder. If we become too consumed with keeping our thoughts hidden from the watcher we may find that they are no longer known to the thinker either.

  3. This was great , definitely have to stay woke, we’re literally living in the matrix, it’s only getting worse and we have to be mindful of everything now. Especially us “Humans”.
