Chicago is known for many things. It’s the Windy City, home of the Chicago Cubs, the White Sox, it’s brutal winters, the Willis Tower, it’s famous pizza, it high murder rate and its police brutality against African-American people.
Chicago like any other city has its bad and it’s good depending on who is telling the story. We all have to accept that there is good and bad in all that we do, in every place that we go and in everyone that we meet.
Jussie Smollett is a good singer and actor. R Kelly is a good singer and it seems that these two gentlemen have shed some more negative light on Chicago. It seems that nowadays that the bad is overtaking the good, but that’s not true it just seems that way.
The good deeds that anyone does is a good thing. The time that passes in between one good deed to another good deed is still good, even though there may be some bad in between the good. One or many good deeds doesn’t make you all good and one or many bad deeds doesn’t make you all bad.
Responsibility and humanity seems to be the missing factor in these two gentlemen’s life right now. Jussie is alleged to have stage his attack to become a hero for his personal causes and R Kelly is accused of having illegal relationships with minor girls and holding them hostage.
Now I don’t know if these allegations against these men are true or not but I do have a problem with the Chicago fans of these two men. Fans of any individual must understand and be able to separate the talent from the man or woman. They also should remember that they are just human and humans make mistakes no matter how talented they are.
Play their songs and watch their videos if you liked their music and their acting but if they are guilty of a crime, they have to pay. You can still enjoy the good that they created even though now they may have done something bad. With all the bad things people say about Chicago we stay here because of the good in Chicago.
Good will always overcomes bad. It just takes time. Accept and enjoyed the good that life and anyone has to offer and rejected the bad, don’t put anyone on a pedestal because it takes only one bad thing to knock them off of it.
