In most states if you are a law abiding citizen with no felonies or convictions, you can apply for your concealed carry permit to carry a firearm. For the most part, applying is a very easy thing to do. If you meet these minimum requirements.
It has become almost a necessity for a lot of Americans who feel the need to carry firearms. More Americans are feeling afraid of other Americans because promoting fear generates money.
Depending on your state, it will cost you around $250-$450, just to get your conceal carry permit. And it’s only good for two or three years depending on your state.
Make no mistake arming Americans is not about safety is about generating money for individual states, so that individual politicians can mismanage those funds and line their own pockets.
Politicians will get on the news and tell you it’s about safety for Americans, but it seems no one can see the forest for the trees.
America had the highest gun violence fatalities among its citizens, leading all other countries. If only those Americans who apply for a concealed carry permit would take it as serious as it needs to be, instead of feeling as though their concealed carry permit gives them the right to feel like Wyatt Earp.
One 16-hour class is all you need in most states to qualify for your concealed carry permit. Eight of those hours are in a classroom where you’re supposed to be taught the legality and responsibilities of caring a gun.
The other eight hours is spent on the gun range, where you only have to fire 30 shots. That’s 10 shots at 10 yards, 10 shots at 15 yards and 10 shots at 20 yards. Hit the targets 30 times and in America you qualify to carry a gun.
I wish I was joking but that’s all it takes. I myself have taken four concealed carry classes and I live in Illinois. Most people say that Illinois is one of the most corrupt states in the country. I don’t know about most corrupt, but it has its corruptions in all shapes.
I took three extra-concealed carry classes, because I couldn’t believe what the classes were teaching was enough for anyone to carry a gun.
I finally took a class that gave me a secure enough feeling that what I was being taught was relevant to carrying a gun. So I’ll say this. If you decide to take a concealed carry course make sure you’re being taught the law, make sure that your instructors are not just in front of the class telling you stories about when they were in the field and how many times they had to pull their weapons.
Know this, the split-second you pull that trigger in a legal attempt to protect your own life or the lives of your loved ones or even the lives of other law-abiding citizen, you are putting your freedom at risk.
The most important thing is that once you pull the trigger you have made the decision to seriously hurt someone or even worse take someone’s life and as a human being taken a life is not as glamorous as the television and movies make it out to be.
Let’s hope you are proficient with your skills and you hit your intended target. God knows, no law-abiding citizen wants to be responsible for that bullet not hitting its intended target.
Take a little time to consider if you really need or want your concealed carry permit. If you decide to get it, make sure you spend your money wisely. A reputable concealed carry class that will teach you all that you need to know.
Practice not only shooting, but also holstering and unholstering your weapon, to become proficient. Like anything it takes, practice, practice, and more practice.
