Black Friday will come and go again as the creators had Intended. Strategically designed for its intended purpose, to convince the consumer that this is the biggest, the best and the final sales of the year.
I’ve seen Black Friday sales in February, March, April, May, June and July. All through August and all through September. October had a few and now again here in November. I can remember in the 80’s, the 90’s, the 2000’s, the 2010’s and now 2023. Soon to be 2024.
Black Friday has been among us for decades manipulating and telling us what a great deal we’re getting on all consumer products. Those who choose to believe that they are getting a better deal on consumer products simply because it’s Black Friday, are mindlessly being led astray.
As are those who believe that black is an identity. In the past decade, BLACK has been perfumed, puffed up and decorated to be something more than it is.
Black, Is a color. You can find it in your crayon box. You can find it in a painter’s paint can. Some dictionaries say that it is the absence of light.
Black can describe a person’s skin tone. Being a description, not a person’s identity, we’ve been had.
We’ve been bamboozled, we’ve been Led astray. We Reduced ourselves to a mere color and claim it to be an identity, all because we are lost and mysteriously yearn to find out who we are.
But when you stand in the light. All deceptions are revealed. I am somebody. You are somebody. Who are you? If you are not black.
