This was the carrot statement that was dangled in front of millions of Americans last week. The unrealistic idea that someone could become a billionaire with the purchase of one lucky ticket. The mega million-lotto pot rose to an unprecedented first time amount of over $1.5 billion.

The idea of winning that jackpot was a unifying motivator, people stood in line patiently awaiting their chance to purchase a chance to be a billionaire. Talking to strangers in line regardless of gender race or personal preference sharing their stories about what they would do if they won the pot.
Some people joined together in groups and pooled their money to have a greater chance at winning. Sharing stories about how they would quit their jobs, by that house, purchased their family members cars, and pay off some bills. How wonderful and beautiful it was to hear people talk about how they would donate some to charity, help the less fortunate and give some to their church.
The thought made us all feel warm and fuzzy inside. I found it interesting that with the thought of winning a lot of money we become so charitable and giving. Maybe if we adopt that same attitude on our existing financial level and help those that we can help. Now we can experience that feeling more often.
The thought of becoming a billionaire made us more humane, generous and giving. Let’s just be more humane and help those we can help and we don’t have to be a billionaires to do it.
